Involvement in training and developing others in the workplace is a growing field of employment. This is encouraged by Government initiatives aimed at reskilling and upskilling the national workforce. Often skilled personnel are required to train others without themselves receiving any training in how to train. The Learning and Development and Direct Training and Support NVQs were developed to redress this balance and to allow recognition of the skills of the workplace trainer.
