Success for OSAT Network with ENTO Direct!

ENTO Direct has done it again! In January and February of this year we delivered a Unit D Health and Safety Learning Programme to members of the Yorkshire and Humberside OSAT Network - (On Site Assessment and Training Networks for the Construction Industry focusing on accredited training for experienced construction employees).

We are delighted to announce that all participants on the first programme have completed the programme and been certificated in less than 3 months of undertaking the activity and confirming ENTO Direct's commitment to 100% achievement within 6 months!

Accessing funding through the four local Learning and Skills Councils, (South, West and North Yorkshire and Humber LSC's), the OSAT Network chose to undertake a bespoke learning programme which allowed them to hold delivery on their own premises and therefore bring in employees of the OSAT Network's members to one site making programme delivery more focused and more cost effective.

Feedback from participants on the programme has been excellent with the majority of evaluations coming in as "outstanding" and the remainder as "good".

Comments from participants include "the information was put across in a way that was easy to understand and take in"...."a very well presented course"..."Easy to follow supported by an excellent tutor"..."plenty of opportunity to ask questions and support was great"

John Bamford of HB Training and co-ordinator of the OSAT Network in the area said: "We were originally advised by the South Yorkshire LSC that our Assessors required a Unit D Health & Safety qualification. We introduced the idea at one of our Network meetings and it was discussed at great length, particularly as the majority of the assessors already held a high standard of health & safety qualifications. The D Unit however is specifically designed to review health & safety conditions in other employers' work places and therefore is ideal for OSAT. Two courses with a total of 23 assessors have attended the programme, which is a credit to all those training organisations involved with the Yorkshire & Humber OSAT Network."

He then went on to comment: "ENTO Direct were extremely flexible in the delivery of the programme and ensured that an assessor along with all the learning materials were made available on the agreed dates at the venues of the Networks choice. Feedback from all of the organisations involved was very positive in regards to the overall programme and the method of delivery."

Sharon Forton, CEO of ENTO Direct said: "ENTO Direct are delighted to have played a small part in supporting this initiative. The £9 million LSC-funded programme called OSAT (On-Site Training and Assessment) has the backing of the UK's 230 largest construction firms and will assess and qualify 10,000 adult construction employees, who have the skills and experience but not the qualifications to back them up, by July 2004. The programme will then be expanded, to train and assess half a million workers over the following five years in support of the industry's commitment to a fully qualified workforce on every construction site by 2010. Through delivery of our quality learning programme ENTO Direct have ensured that we have contributed towards this initiative in a cost effective and timely manner and we look forward to working with other OSAT Networks in the future."
